United States: A new immigration policy enables undocumented immigrants to voluntarily leave the U.S. through a government-run app, avoiding detention and long-term bans.

CBP Home App Introduces “Intent to Depart” Feature

The Trump administration has launched the CBP Home app, allowing undocumented immigrants to self-deport rather than face apprehension. The app includes an “intent to depart” feature, where users can notify authorities of their plan to leave the country voluntarily, as reported by Reuters.

“The CBP Home app gives aliens the option to leave now and self-deport, so they may still have the opportunity to return legally in the future and live the American dream,” said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. “If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return.”

Trump’s Aggressive Immigration Crackdown Continues

President Donald Trump established a promise to remove a record-breaking number of undocumented immigrants from the country.

Deportations under Trump’s administration have already surpassed the monthly averages under Joe Biden’s presidency.

A new regulation takes effect on April 11, requiring undocumented immigrants to register with federal authorities or face fines and potential jail time.

CBP Home Replaces Biden-Era CBP One App

The CBP Home app replaces CBP One, an application launched during the Biden administration, which allowed Mexican migrants to schedule legal border entry appointments, as reported by Reuters.

Republicans heavily criticized CBP One, arguing it enabled mass immigration with minimal screening.

Trump terminated CBP One immediately after taking office, leaving thousands of migrants with unresolved entry appointments.
